Ecopav and the Environment

The growing concerns over the destruction of the environment and social inequality in the world have raised issues that have made the sector of urban waste planning a crucial component in the proper functioning of cities and the well-being of the population.

The discussions on the tons of solid waste produced in urban centers involve other disciplines, such as education and social sciences, revealing the interdependency between the different sectors of society.

It is for this reason that leaders from both the public and private sectors are increasingly seeking sustainable management, that resolve not only the environmental question, but also create new markets and job opportunities, educate and raise awareness in society, and above all minimize environmental impacts.

Addressing concerns with the preservation of natural resources and wellbeing in cities is the Ecopav Group’s main mission in implementing logistics, developing and improving services, implementing plants and landfills, researching and acquiring new technologies and acting to ensure that new guidelines and laws are implemented.

In our daily activities, this involvement is visible in:

1) The sweeping of hundreds of kilometers of beaches, helping keep the soil, animals, rivers and oceans better protected from the waste produced by human activity.

2) In the selective collection of waste and by working hand-in-hand with Recycling Cooperatives.

3) In the reintroduction into the productive chain of materials that would otherwise be disposed of in the ecosystem and which find a new application in civil construction, fertilization of crops, and in energy generation.

4) In educational community campaigns in newspapers, on radio stations and TV channels with the aim of disseminating concepts and sustainable practices.

5) In activities at the schools of the municipalities where the Group is present, running events for children and youngsters.

6) In holding educational workshops and seminars on environmental education and the final use of waste in spaces integrating activities such as the CER (Waste Ecoefficiency Center).
